  1. What is ACS' password policy?

  2. How do I change my password under Solaris 9 or RedHat Linux in a NIS+ environment?
    • Log into adcam: ssh adcam
    • At the prompt, type: nispasswd
    • After entering your new password twice, then type: chkey -p
  3. How do I change my password under OS X?

    Under 'System Preferences', go to 'Accounts'

    • Click the 'Change Password' button, located underneath your Name and Short Name
    • Enter your old password, your new password twice, and an optional Password Hint

    You can use Password Assistant to help you choose a new password. Click the key button to the right of the Password field to see how secure your new password is.

  4. How do I synchronize my 'Keychain' password to my 'Login' password?

    For OS X 10.3

    • Start the "Keychain Access" application in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder
    • In Keychain Access, choose Window > Keychain First Aid
    • Click Options to see the Keychain First Aid settings
    • Make the login keychain password the same as the login password
    • Enter your Mac OS X login name and password

    For OS X 10.4

    • Open Keychain Access (in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder) and select the keychain in the Keychains list (click Show Keychains if the list is not open).
    • Choose Edit, "Change Password for Keychain 'login'." (The name of the keychain in the menu matches the name of the selected keychain. If you selected the keychain that unlocks when you log in, the name you see is "login.")
    • If the keychain is locked, type the password to unlock it.
    • Type the current password for this keychain.
    • Type a new password, then type it again to verify.
    • Click OK.
