You can try the following:Taking a screen shot while using the GNOME desktop is very easy. To take a screen shot of the entire screen simply press the Print Screen key. To take a screen shot of only the active window hold down the Alt key and press Print Screen.
To take a screen shot when not using the GNOME desktop use the GIMP graphics program. Start the GIMP and use the File->Acquire->Screen Shot menu item.

Go to the edit menu, select preferences, view the "Printing" tab, and go to the "print command" dialog box. Here, you can edit the print command options. There is a bug that requires you to hit enter to save this preference, so once you have finished changing options, please hit enter to save changes.
- Right click on applet icon
- Select "Configuration..." item from popup menu
- Click "Forward" button
- Click "Remove From Panel" button
- Right click on the small, vertical rectangle just to the left of where the Update applet was located
- Click "Remove From Panel" button
